German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder was joined
by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the official
Opening Ceremony of HANNOVER FAIR 2005 at April 10.
At April 11, these two political leaders also jointly
opened the Partner Country Russia presentation in Hall
13 and the German-Russian Business Symposium in the
on-site Convention Center.
Here in Hall
13, next to the Russian Energy Exhibition, the worldwide
biggest Group Exhibit and Hydrogen
+ Fuell Cells was also located.

The Russian Federation enriched this year's HANNOVER
FAIR with an extensive economic, political and cultural
presentation. The Russian economy is on track for increased
growth and prosperity. No other country in the world
has such extensive natural resources at its disposal.
The goal of the Russian presentation was to publicize
the country's economic and technical strengths.
At the Russian Pavilion in Hall 13, the nation with
the strongest economic growth worldwide was presenting
its technological expertise and innovative products
for a wide range of industrial fields on 6,600 square
meters of floorspace. These "Partner Country"
displays were augmented by the Russian Industrial Forum,
featuring a rich program of daily lectures and panel
debates.

More than 6,000 exhibitors from 60 countries took part
in HANNOVER FAIR 2005, which rates as one of the most
important foreign trade events of the year for the Russian
Federation.
The significance attached by the Russian government
to this involvement was underlined by the two-day visit
of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Hannover.
