With a clear commitment for Hydrogen and a vehicle drive
with fuel cells Carl-Peter Forster, Europa President from
General Motors (GM) closed the : "2d European Hydrogen
Energy Conference - EHEC 2005" at Zaragossa, Spain, November
25 with more than 500 participants from all over the globe.
According to Forster, GM has - so far - spent more than 1
Billion US Dollars for the development of Hydrogen vehicles
with fuel cells. At this time, at GM there are more than 600
experts active from research and developmen to implemenation
into series production in USA, Japan and Germany. It is the
target of GM, to have developed and validated a Fuel Cell
drive which is competative with combustion engines. Therefore
. so Forster, the General Motors design target is set at 50
US Dollars per kW drivepower.
Forster closed his presentation with the worlds: "Fuel
cells will come, if they do not come from Europe, they will
come to Europe"

Mit einem klaren Bekenntnis zu Wasserstoff und zu einem Fahrzeug-Antrieb
mit Brennstoffzellen beendete Carl-Peter Forster, Europa Praesident
von General Motors (GM) die: "2d European Hydrogen Energy
Conference - EHEC 2005" in Zaragossa, Spanien, am 25.
November mit ueber 500 Teilnehmern aus aller Welt.
Laut Forster habe General Motors bisher rd. 1 Mrd. US Dollars
in die Entwicklung von Wasserstoff Fahrzeugen mit Brennstoffzellen
investiert. Derzeit arbeiten bei GM insgesamt 600 internationale
Experten in Forschung, Entwicklung und Serienreifmachung dieser
Fahrzeuge in USA, Japan, und Deutschland. Das Ziel von Gerneral
Motors sei es, bis 2010 einen Brennstofzellen-Antrieb entwickelt
und zugelassen zu haben, der wettbewerbsfaehig mit Verbrennungsmotoren
ist. Dabei, so Forster, laege das Kostenziel bei 50 US Dollars
pro kW Antriebskraft.
Forster schloss seine Praesentation mit den Worten: "Brennstoffzellen
werden kommen, wenn sie nicht aus Europa kommen, werden sie
nach Europa kommen."
