The Fuel Cell Network NRW was called into being in 2000 within the framework of the NRW State Initiative on Future Energies. The network aim is to strengthen the NRW production and research location in the field of fuel cell technology.
The network primarily works at bringing together existing competences from science and trade and industry together as well as at identifying, set-ting up and integrating new competences. This applies especially to enterprises and institutes that have not yet been directly active in the field of fuel cell technology, but can make valuable contributions in the field of system integration as well as in the supplier field due to their expertise. The Fuel Cell Network NRW offers a number of services, which can be subdivided into the fields of information and communication, cooperative and individual projects, qualification, internationalization, settlement and public relations.
Thus, e.g. specialist events are offered in the field of information and com-munication about fuel cell subjects.
The themes of “stack design“, “system engineering”, “marketing”, “electrical engineering” and “fuel processing” are treated in detail in working groups.
In connection with the initiation of cooperative projects the network helps with the finding of partners and advises initially on the application of public fundings. More than 20 fuel cell projects at a total sum of more than 46 million Euro have already been promoted in NRW with 16 million Euro from the REN programme.
Moreover, the network helps with the settlement of enterprises that want to manufacture components or complete systems in NRW.
In the field of internationalization e.g. joint stands at trade fairs and con-ferences are initiated and delegation trips are organized to other countries. At the moment the network counts more than 170 companies and institutes from NRW, which deal with various fields of the fuel cell technology. Inter-ested companies and institutes are cordially invited to collaborate in the Fuel Cell Network NRW.
