Nuvera Fuel Cells is a leading designer and developer of fuel cell power systems, fuel processors, and fuel cell stacks for the automotive, distributed generation, commercial, and industrial markets. Since 1992, its fuel processors and PEM fuel cell stacks have been successfully tested and evaluated by major automobile and appliance manufacturers, research institutions, telecommunications organizations, and industrial and energy companies. Nuvera s fuel processors have demonstrated the ability to extract hydrogen from a number of liquid and gaseous fuels such as gasoline, ethanol, methanol, natural gas, kerosene, propane, butane, and more. Achievements in 2003:
1) Three new product introductions include: H2e, a 5kW hydrogen-powered fuel cell power module for industrial equipment applications; Andromeda, 75kWth metallic bipolar plate fuel cell stack for automotive applications; and STAR, a 200kWth gasoline fuel processor for light-duty fuel cell vehicles. Joint development agreement with FIAMM sPa to develop 7kW class hybrid battery / fuel cell power pack for industrial materials handling vehicles. Demonstration of 40kW fuel cell stack technology in FIAT Seicento fuel cell vehicle. Demonstration of 4kW Avanti natural gas fuel cell power module at US Coast Guard station.
