h-tec was founded in 1997 in Luebeck, Germany, when fuel cells were still largely unknown. The aim of the company's founders and managing partners Uwe Kueter (physicist) and Stefan Hoeller (engineer) has always been to tap into this emerging market with innovative products. Given that the market for fuel cells was non-existent at the time h-tec was established, its founders concentrated on the market for education and demonstration models. As a result, h-tec’s education division has evolved into a global, leading supplier of fuel cell system models to schools and universities, as well as to the research, PR and marketing departments of a wide variety of industrial companies. h-tec Education currently offers an assortment of 50 different fuel cell and electrolysis models in all price brackets.
