In 2001 the Minister of the Environment in Mecklenburg-
Western Pomerania, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Methling
visits the Group Exhibit in Hall 18 for the first
time. This year he is impressed by the growing
number of participants at the Group Exhibit in
hall 13. He wants to get an overview of Hydrogen
and Fuel Cell Technologies for mobile applications.

Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Methling meets with PROTON
MOTOR Fuel Cell GmbH, Starnberg.Plans are underway
to use Fuel Cell buses in the city of Barth’s
protected area beginning in the fall 2003. The
project is completely supported and promoted by
the City of Starnberg, by the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommerns
and by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Employment.
Minister Methling (right) is especially interested
in the development of mobile applications of Fuel
Cells, for example in the car of the future. Dr.
Lars Peter Thiesen (left) from Adam Opel AG presents
the prototype GM Hy-wire car.
Minister Methling (right) also visits the booth
of the wiba Coordination Center of the Hydrogen
Initiative Bavaria. He is interested in the projects
that have been realised in Bavaria within the
last few years.
