Company Interest:
The Hydrogen Initiative Bavaria (wiba) has been founded in 1996 with financial help of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport and Technology. Main targets are development and support of hydrogen technology. The wiba-Coordination Center assists companies with initiation and conception of hydrogen-projects in Bavaria, which are evaluated under technical, energy economic, financial aspects.

Achievements in 2001:
Priorities of the wiba-Coordination Center:

• Initiation and conception of hydrogen-projects in Bavaria;
• Support of Bavarian companies on planning and applcation of projects;
• Check and evaluation of applications under technical, energy economic and financial aspects;
• Development of a long-term strategy for supporting hydrogen-energy technology;
• PR concepts on hydrogen-energy technology.

• Hydrogen project "Munich Airport";
• Fuel cell buses for city transport;
• Fuel cell cogeneration power plant in Nuremberg;
• Hydrogen storage capabilities in carbon nanotubes and metal hydrides storage systems;
• Test system "Hot module";
• Hydrogen sensor systems;
• Development of an PEM fuel cell;
• Special "fuel cell" exhibition in the Deutsches Museum, Munich
