Since 1990 MTU have been developing a practical
and transportable power plant carbonate
fuel cell in collaboration with the companies
Ruhrgas, RWE Power and Energi E2. It runs
off any kind of fossil fuel gas and can
produce up to 2 megawatt of electrical power.
Second HotModule field trial installation
The MTU HotModule fuel cell power plant
has been supplying the Rhön-Klinikum
hospital in Bad Neustadt with power and
heat since May 2001. It marks another milestone
in the development of efficient, low-emission
energy generation systems.

On a 130 sq big booth - together with DaimlerChrysler
- MTU will talk about technic, emission,
efficiency and operationfields of the fuel
cell power plant HotModule.

The hotmodule has an electrical efficiency
of 47% to 65% as well as the capability
to produce process steam and heat with
a low emission of pollutants and noise.
The MTU hotmodule attracts many visitors
to the MTU booth.
