Achievements in 2001:
A Mercedes-Benz Sprinter
delivery van was equipped with a fuel cell
system and runs in a two year test program
at the delivery service company Hermes Transport
Service. This is the first test-run of a fuel
cell vehicle under real world operating conditions.
The Fuel Cell Bus Project is making big efforts.
The first prototyp is running and activities
in the Mannheim facility of DaimlerChrysler
EvoBus to prepare series production are ongoing.
Necar5, DaimlerChrysler's fuel cell vehicle
with on-board reforming passed a 1111km long
distance record drive on public roads in California.
News
at HANNOVER FAIR 2002:
Main focus is on the European Bus Project.
The steps towards the implementation of
a H2-Infrastructur for the fleet in Europe
will be demonstrated. A mock-up of Necar5,
showing the technology-components in the
vehicle will be presented. Most important
issues, adressing the Sprinter on its daily
operation at Hermes are highlighted.

DaimlerChrysler exposes
the Necar5 model car, the latest Fuel Cell
vehicle with Hydrogen generation on board.
The Necar5 has had a successful endurance
test drive on the roads of California where
it had been driving 1111 km in 2 days.
