The CEA is a major research and development
institute involved in different fields of
activities (defence, nuclear, fundamental
and technological research). Since june
1999, CEA has been commissioned by French
governement to carry out an important program
on the new energy technologies in partneship
with industrials within, European projects
and the French technological research network
on fuel celles "PACo". Up to now,
200 researchers are involved in this program
planned to be increased up to 300 in 2003.

CEA presents its products and innovative
components for Fuel Cell stacks. Visitors
were able to see what progress has been
done in the field of electrodes and could
admire a new design of MEAs (Membrane Electrode
Assemblies) and plastic liners for a Hydrogen
barrier.
Pierre Serre-Combe head of the H2 and
Fuel Cell laboratory at CEA, describes
a new process developed by CEA to integrate
sealing around the MEA (Membrane Electrode
Assemblies). |
