Mr. Evers told us that he has known Mr. James Ding in China since two years before, and then he got contact with Chinese MOST. As we all know that energy is very important for China and for the whole world. Renewable energy such as hydrogen and fuel cells are the warm themes now to solve the problem. And China becomes more important in the international cooperation because of its huge and potential market. China itself has also got a lot of new technologies which we can see on the fair. That is why he and his exhibitors come to China to attend the fair.

Mr. Evers told us that he has been working for this theme for more than 10 years. He travels to USA, Canada, Australien, Japan, Singapor, Korea and a lot of European countries, has also attended a lot of international conferences in those countries; invited the experts and companies in order to promote this exhibition.

His team has organised the exhibition of this theme in Hanover fair for 10 years. He showed us with the graphic on the card, that the attending exhibitors and the countries have increased year after year. In 2004 there were altogether 124 companies from more than 20 countries attended the fair in Hanover.

The idea of organizing the exhibition is to set a platform for the companies, so that they can have opportunities to get more information of the international development of renewable energy, to find interesting contact and cooperation with each other.

This time there are 8 exhibitors here in Shanghai on SIF 2004. Of course these 8 exhibitors are not representative, but they are the pioneers in this branch. It is just the beginning in China. Mr. Evers said that they trust that the renewable energy in China would develop quickly, and he and his exhibitors come in the next year again to SIF 2005
